In order to align with most universities, GLHS has adopted a standard 90(A), 80(B), 70(C), 60(D), >60(F) scale. While the threshold for an A may be lower, there are no “bonus” GPA points for getting an 88%. No B+, for example. Of note also is that highly selective universities typically consider GPA only modestly for admittance. ACT and SAT scores have become the “golden ticket” of admission, with GPA and a well-rounded resume including athletics, fine arts, and acts of service becoming secondary in importance.
